COURT ASKED TO STOP THE SWEARING - IN OF BUHARI; UNCONFIRMED SCHOOL CERTIFICATE
The Incorporated Trustees of Advocacy for Societal Rights Advancement and Development Initiative, a Civil Service Organisation has asked the Federal High Court to stop the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Mahmud Mohammed from administering the presidential swearing in oath for General Buhari.
This came as a result of the uncertainty surrounding the president elect's WASC certificate.
The group, argued that Buhari did not meet the qualification to contest for the presidential election. Their charges as filed by their lawyer Mr Philip Ekpo insists that the president elect has not presented an authentic copy of his WASC and therefore stands to be disqualified from becoming the president of Nigeria.
According to the 1999 constitution and the Electoral Act,
