South Africa Bribed FIFA to Host 2010 World Cup
South African government has been named among the countries that paid bribe to FIFA.
US investigators said that $10m bribe was given to FIFA officials so that South Africa can host the first ever FIFA world cup held in Africa.
The South African government has replied, saying that at the end of the world cup, the accounting firm Ernest & Young was employed to conduct an audit. the result was clean.
Spokes man of the South African Football Association, Dominic Chimhavi added that anyone who has an evidence contrary to this should forward it.
An FBI indictment alleges that South African government promised to pay $10m to former Vice President Jack Warner and his co-conspirators if they win the right to host the world cup in 2010.
Mr Warner said he was innocent of all charges and handed himsel over for investigation.,
He spent the night in prison after delays in processing his $365,000 bail
They said that Late Nelson Mandela played a key role in the bid.
