Ugandan Pop Star Jailed for Showing off Lingerie in Music Video: See Video

21 year old Ugandan Pop star, Jemimah Kansiime has been jailed for breaking the country's strict anti-pornography laws.

After she released a music video titled Ensolio Yange (the video has some scenes that are questionable), the conservative politicians n Uganda agreed that she has broken law and she was arrested, alongside her producer and Director, Didi Muchwa Mugisha.

The authorities described the video as obscene and vulgar and charged Did and Jemimah for a video that is "willful, unlawful, trafficking, importing, selling and abetting sex.

Didi pleaded guilty and paid a fine of 200,000 Ugandan shillings (43 Pounds). Jemimah pleaded not guilty and was imprisoned for five weeks while she gathered funds for her bail.

Jemimah never dreamed her never will be viewed by over a 90,000 on you tube. At the moment, the video has reached over 500,000 viewers.

"I was just experimenting to see if i put on a short cloth, will the audience like it?"

"My right has been trampled on, my freedom of expression has been trampled on" she told The Guardian

Her lawyer, My Semakadde Issac argues that the case is a test of the rights of Ugandan performers, to express themselves.

The Ugandan anti-pornography law (popularly known as miniskirt bill) was passed in February 2014, Any person found guilty can face up to 10 years in jail.

If such law was passed in some countries, there will be no music video to watch because a lot of them are worse that Jemimahs'.
While other countries are legalizing similar things and promoting such videos, we have countries like Uganda fighting against it.

Ugandan law makers have only succeeded in making her more popular.

Some freedom of expression "no follow".

May the will of God always prevail.
